282350062_l4Connor Bailey is our GIS Director. He grew up in Washington D.C. but feels much more at home in the West. He received his B.A. in Geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000, with an emphasis in GIS and physical geography and recently completed an Advanced Certificate of GIS from the University of Denver. He is experienced in map production and database management. Connor has also worked in New Zealand and Rocky Mountain National Park researching invasive plants, and served as the GIS Director for the Southern Rockies Ecosystem Project. Connor is now pursuing a Masters in GIS at the University of Denver.   Email Connor.

maine_california_2006-0781Paige Bonaker is our Staff Biologist/GIS Specialist. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University, and an M.S. in Environmental Studies at the University of Montana. Paige has studied human-wildlife interaction issues in areas as diverse as Montana and Africa. Before coming to Center for Native Ecosystems, Paige helped coordinate the Citizen Science Wildlife Monitoring Program with the Southern Rockies Ecosystem Project and helped protect important resources within Colorado State Parks as part of the Parks Stewardship team.  Email Paige.

office-photo-090322Bethany Gravell is our Executive Director.  Bethany has years of experience directing political campaigns and raising funds for both ballot issues and candidates.  Her work on ballot issue campaigns in the Denver metro area has helped deliver over $100 million in public funding dedicated to cultural facilities, parks, open space and public safety needs.  She has also been a staffer for a Denver city councilor, where she worked on local mass transit, public parks development, open space, and building public support for local arts organizations.  Bethany holds an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Colorado and a B.A. in political science and environmental studies from Providence College in Rhode Island.  She has conducted research on local policy on drought, hazardous waste clean-up, and other environmental issues, and has been an AmeriCorps Vista Member.   Email Bethany.

100_alisongallensky_new4 Alison Gallensky is our GIS Specialist. She has degrees in computer science and applied math from the University of Chicago, and previously worked in the software analysis and development field. When she completed a GIS certificate program in 2003 at the University of Denver, she finally  found a way to combine her background in computer science with her passion for conservation. Alison previously worked as a GIS Specialist at the Southern Rockies Ecosystem Project. Her recent projects have helped create a Greenprint for communities in East Central Texas, supported Community Wildfire Protection Plans, and inventoried roadless areas in Colorado’s national forests.  Email Alison.

megan002_croppedMegan Mueller (formerly Corrigan) is our Staff Biologist.  Megan brings expertise in population demography and genetics to the organization.  She has a B.A. in biology from the University of Colorado and an M.S. in Environmental Studies at the University of Montana.  She’s worked for the USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station, drafted a feasibility study for river otter restoration for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, worked as the research director of the Colorado Acequia Association in San Luis, CO. Megan also coordinated the lynx restoration volunteer project for the Colorado Division of Wildlife, and served as a founding member of the board of Colorado Wild. Megan is a Doris Duke Conservation Fellow.  Email Megan.

josh-on-weed-pull-day_croppedJoshua Pollock is Center for Native Ecosystems’ Conservation Director.  Josh wrote our first Endangered Species Act listing petition, for the Porter feathergrass, back in 2000 and been actively involved ever since. Josh previously worked on urban growth issues, recycling, and clean air issues as an organizer and a campaign office director for the Public Interest Research Groups and the Sierra Club. He has been an editor of a non-profit newswire service, a high school teacher, and an outdoor education instructor.  Josh holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an M.A. from the University of Colorado.  He and his wife Leslie, a long-time Center for Native Ecosystems volunteer, have lived in the Front Range of Colorado since 1998.  Email Josh.

erin-in-the-field_cropped1Erin Robertson is our Senior Staff Biologist.  Our first employee, Erin started working at CNE in 2001. She has experience with a wide range of taxa and ecosystems, with particular expertise in botany and pollination biology.  She earned an M.S. in Botany through the University of Colorado’s Museum and Field Studies Program and a B.S. in Biology from Bates College.  Erin has worked for the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Departments, the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, and the Denver Botanic Gardens, and is a member of the Colorado Native Plant Society.  Email Erin.

07220819171Andrea West is our Development Director. She completed a degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with an emphasis on water resource management. Her non-profit background includes working as the grants manager for Global Greengrants Fund in Boulder, doing exercise therapy at the Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Project in Boulder, and teaching adaptive skiing in Jackson, WY, and at the National Sports Center for the Disabled in Winter Park. Prior to coming to CNE, Andrea spent ten summers guiding river trips in Colorado, Idaho, and Costa Rica.  Email Andrea.
